At DeanHouston, Epilepsy Alliance Ohio (EAO) is an organization that is near and dear to our hearts. As proud supporters of EAO, we’re asking you to join us on February 6 for the Rock Stars for Epilepsy Annual Seize Hope Virtual Charity Gala. Taking place via Zoom from 7:00-9:00 p.m. EST, the gala will directly benefit people living with epilepsy and their families.
The event will feature private happy hours, team trivia, live entertainment from The Naked Karate Girls, a virtual silent auction, an awards ceremony, and many other surprises throughout the night. Community affiliates, including Dr. David Ficker from the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute, will also present information regarding epilepsy at various points during the evening.
“There has never been a more important time to support people living with epilepsy and their families,” said Kathy Schrag, Executive Director of Epilepsy Alliance Ohio. “The Rock Stars for Epilepsy Annual Seize Hope Virtual Charity Gala is an exciting event that invites the community to support Epilepsy Alliance Ohio while still being mindful of social distancing recommendations. With live entertainment, wine and prizes, it will definitely be a night to remember, and one that leaves a positive impact within the epilepsy community.”
The goal for the gala is to raise money for EAO initiatives through tickets, donations, silent auction, and individual and corporate sponsorships. Anyone interested in attending the Rocks Stars for Epilepsy Annual Seize Hope Virtual Charity Gala may purchase tickets for $25 per household. During registration, attendees can also opt in to purchase a charcuterie board with a wine pairing that will be specially curated and paired for the event.
“Like many charitable organizations across the country, Epilepsy Alliance Ohio was hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic because of our reliance on donations,” added Schrag. “We were even forced to cancel our Seize Hope Charity Gala in 2020, which is annually one of our largest fundraising events. So, we knew we had to get creative this year. A virtual event seemed like the perfect way to re-engage with our volunteers, staff and supporters in a safe way while accomplishing our 2021 fundraising goals.”
